Accommodation, Catering and Conference facilities in south Iceland open all year
Brekkukot guesthouse is open all year round. Accommodation for 33 persons is offered in two buildings, Brekkukot and Veghus. All guests have access to a geothermal outdoor swimming pool and a hot tub.

Brekkukot runs on green tourism principles - it is the first guesthouse in Iceland to be certified in the Sustainable Travellers Service Programme from the South Iceland Environment and Health Department.

Modern guesthouse in south Iceland
Veghus, a modern guesthouse, built 1997, has 6 en suite double rooms and 2 suites comprising double room, bathroom, living room and kitchenette. There is a large, beautifully designed Nordic style lounge with television, kitchen and sizable veranda to enjoy the panoramic view of Sólheimar and its spectacular environs.

For groups, Brekkukot offers full board. Meals can be served either in the café Græna Kannan or in Sólheimar House. The excellent self-catering facilities and barbecues on the verandas of both buildings can also be used.

Brekkukot has 3 double rooms, 7 single rooms, and 3 bathrooms. is a delightful winter garden and excellent kitchen and dining facilities. Additionally there is 1 suite with double room, living room, bathroom and kitchenette.

For individual guests, breakfast is available on request, and for other meals there are excellent self-catering facilities, as well as barbecues. Groceries, including locally grown organic produce, are available in the village shop. Lunch is available in nearby Sólheimar House on weekdays.

Geothermally heated greenhouse
Situated in the middle of the village, across the village square from the shop Vala, the café Graena Kannan is a creatively adapted, geothermally heated greenhouse and specialises in organic foods and drinks.

State of the art conference facilities
Brekkukot offers state of the art conference facilities in Sesselja House and other buildings. Sesselja House is Iceland's first sustainable building. It is an eco-centre for conferences, meetings, and educational courses for companies, organisations, schools, as well as the general public. In addition

It often hosts musical or theatrical performances, as well as being a meeting place for villagers and sometimes the scene of lively dancing in the evenings.
