The Northern parts of the West fjords have many things to offer to the traveler. The Untamed nature and mountain roads are often enough, but then there are all the fisheries towns, historic places, monumentals of snow floats and the people to mention few.

Sumarbyggd (Transl. Summer population/town) is a company specializing in renting out apartments and rooms for travelers, vacationing the West Fjords of Iceland. Sudavik is town near to Isafjordur and on the main road when driving north west Iceland.

Taking a vacation in the West fjords of Iceland
West Fjords of Iceland are nothing but mountains and fjords. This part is the oldest of the Iceland well over 12 million years of age. They are mostly made of basalt and some hyalite. These glaciers made mountains, the glacier having dug out the fjords by the end of the ice age and the glacier melted it left the magnificent mountains of The West Fjords. For travelers who like rough, unspoiled natures this is certainly the place to visit.
