Icelandic Music
Icelandic music has shot to international prominence in recent years largely thanks to the success of Sigur Ros, Mum, Mugison, Bjork and The Sugarcubes. There are, however, a whole host of other classical, jazz, folk, experimental, dance, and pop / rock artists who are also creating original, world-class music.
If you are interested in Icelandic music, you can find music stores in the shopping malls Kringlan and Smáralind, as well as in the main shopping street of Reykjavík - Laugavegur. They stock a huge selection of Icelandic music and you can find all the past albums of many different Icelandic artists.
