Fljotstunga was one of the farms that started Icelandic Farm Holidays 30 years ago.

Facilities on offer at the farm:

  • Made up beds in 3 dbl/twin rooms at the farmhouse. Sitting room/library.
  • Breakfast buffet. Other meals available on request.
  •  Sleeping bag accommodation for 15-16 persons in small huts with kitchen equipment.
  • Farm animals: Horses, poultry, dogs and a cat.

The Lava Cave Víđgelmir
One of the world's largest...... 

Among interesting places are the Hraunfossar springs, Barnafoss waterfall, the mountain Strútur, the glaciers Eiríksjökull, Ok and Langjökull (skidoo tours), the moor Arnarvatnsheiđi with several fishing lakes and the lava Hallmundarhraun, with the large caves Víđgelmir and Surtshellir. The saga sites Gilsbakki and Reykholt are nearby.
