Hunting
in Iceland
Hunting
in Iceland has only recently been embraced by foreign sportsmen,
and the few who have made the journey have usually been pleasantly
surprised.
The vast, wild and unspoilt interior of Iceland
provides ideal habitat for ptarmigan and reindeer. The coastal fringes
are host to thousands of geese that gather there in the autumn,
after a summer of breeding in the mountain areas, before their long
flight south. There are also duck along the coast for most of the
year.
Hunting
is well organised and regulated, thus ensuring well managed populations
of quarry species. Importing firearms goes very smoothly as we have
all the paper work ready for you to sign on arrival at Keflavik
airport. After that you are transported by your guide to the hunting
grounds for a memorable experience.
