Lagarfljótsormurinn Ltd. operates a 110-passenger ship on Lake Lagarfljót, cruising throughout the summer from the town of Egilsstaðir, on Ring Road No. 1, to the popular camping site Atlavík in the woods of Hallormsstaður. On board, there is a spacious, well-lighted dining area where guests can buy for instance a light meal, coffee and cake, in addition to alcoholic beverages. On daytime tours, passengers hear and read a description of the surroundings, while children are offered special pastimes. In the evening, one can dance to the easy tones of a band during a romantic trip, enjoying the unique atmosphere of Iceland's only river cruiser.
