The seafood at Raudara Steakhouse is the freshest in the world, only caught from the ice cold North-Atlantic ocean. It is carefully selected and prepared by our outstanding and experienced chefs.

The story of the house
In 1928 Hólmjárn J. Hólmjárn started the ale and soda manu-facturing company Þór hf. He built a great brewery at Rauðárstígur in 1930, and now the Redriver steak-house has been set up in the main building.

During the war years strong beer was brewed for the occupution forces in this building. In 1967 Egils brewery moved it´s hole operations to Rauðarárstígur and until 1985 operated the largest brewery in the country here. After that the brewery moved it´s operation to Grjótháls.
