Horse EquipmentThe trusty, well-natured Icelandic horse has been growing in popularity in the last few decades all around the world. This unique breed, which has remained pure since the settlement of the country, has now become one of Iceland's major exports. And with each successive year an increasing number of tourists come to Iceland to for the experience of riding the Icelandic horse in its natural surroundings.
And yet the number of horses outside Iceland is not large enough to warrant large-scale production of tailor-made equestrian equipment. For that reason, Icelandic horse aficionados tend to purchase their equipment in Iceland, where tradition also ensures quality. Although Icelandic producers of equestrian equipment export some of their products - especially to Germany - it is still better to buy the equipment in Iceland because of the lower prices and the added tax-free discount.
