Polar Hestar is a family business. All our guests know Stefan and Juliane.
Stefan was born close to Grenivik and has been living nearly all his live at Grytubakki. Juliane was born in Germany, but grown up in Switzerland.
A couple of years ago, she went to Iceland on the Elves and Trolls riding tour and met Stefan. She found in him her partner and in January 2000 Simon Birgir, their son was born and has already sat on a horse!
Then there is Goi, Stefans father. Unlike all the others at Gryutbakki, Goi only speaks Icelandic, but observing him well, he seems to understand more languages that he confesses!
And, last but not least, there are many other helping hands, relatives and friends, who drop in for coffee or join one of the riding tours.
