What do we offer?

SS car-rental concentrates on services at Leifur Eiríksson Airport. We are positioned at about 5 km distance from the airport. You get your car on arrival at the airport and can return it there, if you like. We offer three different sizes of cars; Mazda 323 Sedan (5 persons), either automatic or 5 speed Mitsubishi L 300 4x4 (9 persons) Ford Econoline (15 persons)

Here can our customers take a look at the licence agreement:

Car Rental Terms:
1. The renter has received the vehicle and accessories in perfect
condition.
2. All vehicles shall be returned to the same office where they were
collected for renting unless a special agreement has been made
containing a different provision with respect to this subject. Any
such agreement shall have been concluded in advance and with a due
notice.
3. If a renter fails to return the vehicle on time in accordance with
the rental agreement stipulations or fails to notify of continued
rental the lessor or the police are authorized to seize the vehicle
and take it into custody without further notice and entirely at the
expense of the renter. Extension of the car rental is subject to the
agreement of the lessor.
4. It is not permissible to use the car for tha transportation of
passangers against payment. Neither can the car be lent nor sublet.
5. the renter alone is authorized to drive the car unless he appoints
another driver to be approved of in writing by the lessor. The renter
is responsible for the driver whom he appoints and the latter must
be at least twenty years of age and he shall in all instances have
been in the possession of a drivers licence for at least one year.
6. The car shall be driven carefully in case of collision or accident
any such occurence shall be reported instantly to law enforcement
authorities and to the lessor. The renter is not to leave the scene
of the accident or collision until such action has been taken and
after the police have arrived on the scene of the accident.
7. Third party liability insurance shall be equivalent to the amount
stipulated by Icelandic law at each time and this also applies to
the amount prescribed by law on individual driver liability. The car
is covered by comprehensive vehicle insurance in case of damage to
the vehicle the renter shall pay up to Icelandic kronur 120,000,00
on a regular passanger car but kronur 150,000,00 on a four wheel
drive vehicle. These amounts will not be reduced in case of car damage
unless the repair charges amount to less than the respective above
specify. By payment of a fixed amount to be determined at each time by
the lessor the renter can insure himself aginst disbursement of the
amount of drive liability on the comprehensivevehicle insurance.
8. The renter of the car it totally responsible for any and all damage
incurred through the use of the car including a damage to the car and
or passangers due to
a) off-road driving i.c. driving on trails not marked as normal roadson charts.
b) driving through streams or any kind of waterfall.
c) willfull action or colossal carelessness.
d) use of drugs by either driver
e) use of the car in contravention of the provisions of the rental
agreement.
f) damages due to sandstorms.
g) damages to the chassis of the car.
h) damages due to driving of passanger car in the highlands. Such
cars are only insured for driving on main roads.
9. The lessor is never hable to payment of hotel costs nor any other
costs related to or derived from car failure wahatever the cause may
be.
10. The renter is able to pay for all parking meter fines and fines
for traffic violations.
11. Tire damage and broken headlights are not covered by the insurance policy.
12. The speedometer and odometer must not be tampered with in any way and failures in either of those instruments shall be reported instantly to the lessor.
13. The renter shall pay all costs in connection with collection of
payment in accordance with the terms of this agreement.
14. All changes or deviations from the provisions of this agreement
shall be in writing.
15. In case of legal proceedings arising because of this agreement
the renter agrees to having such litigatio conducted before the
Keflavik Municipal Court without prior submisson to a Board of
Conciliation.
On signing:
I have studied the terms and conditions contained on the front and
reverse sides of this agreement and I accept them.
